Step 2 – Show up at the roro port (located at Dumangas) least 1 hour before your scheduled departure time. (Note: If you are travelling from the city, it will take you 30-45min to get to the Port of Dumangas).
Upon arrival, you will have to pay the P12 vehicle pass.
Step 3 – Find the manong in charge of the vehicle listing (he is usually found near the ship) and check-in with him. Double check if your vehicle’s plate number is included in his trip manifest. He will then instruct you to park your vehicle nearby and settle all payments while you wait for boarding
Step 4 – Pay the PPA / ‘arastre’ / roro terminal fee. It’s basically the terminal fee for your vehicle.
Step 4 – Proceed to the passenger terminal and pay the passengers’ fare + terminal fee.

Regular fare – P70
Terminal fee – P30
Total / pax = P100
*Driver + 1 passenger is free of charge
Step 5 – After all the payments have been settled. You may now sit comfortably in your car and wait for your plate number to be called out to board the ship.
Step 6 – Once called to board, the manongs will help you maneuver your vehicle onto the ship. Payment for your vehicle will be collected as soon as you park your car inside. For 4-wheelers, the standard rate is P800.
You may stay inside your car the whole trip (which usually takes 1.5-2.5 hrs depending on weather conditions) or choose to alight and stay in the ship’s cabin. Tristar has an on-board canteen whereas Montenegro doesn’t. It’s best to bring snacks if you choose to board the latter.
